![]() ![]() My ultimate goal is to share my paintings which reveal how I love and enjoy the simple treasures around me.Ĭharlene Engel lives and works in Gilbert, Arizona, Her work shows her fascination with the Sonoran Desert landscapes of central and southern Arizona.Īlways interested in trees, she focuses on Arizona's mesquites and paloverdes. I have benefited greatly from my mentors, David Flitner and Eddie Lopez. I also participate in a unique group of seven ?Epic? artists who lend each other support, information and guidance. ?Glowing Egret? advertised the Holland Gallery Show in October of 2017. My painting, ?Into the McDowells?, was chosen by the Shemer Art Center to promote their show, ?Arizona: From the Outside ?in September of 2017. I have since been in a variety of shows including the Desert Botanical Gardens, Scottsdale Artist School, Visions Gallery, Herberger, Heaven Gallery, and Easy Street Gallery. ![]() In October of 2013, I became juried into the Arizona Art Alliance and began selling my paintings through the AAA Gallery. I volunteer in the Veteran?s art classes held at the Arizona Art Alliance. I am an active member of the Scottsdale Artist League. A mixture of textures, abstract, and realism styles makes the artwork unique. We moved to Arizona in 1996 and the desert and mountains became the new focus of my art.Īfter transition to full time artist, I began to hone my skills in watercolors, oils, drawing, pastels, pencils, as well as pen and ink. Stone buildings, bridges, and water were the focus of many photography trips. The love of the Jersey Shore yielded many beach and ocean paintings displayed in local shows and galleries. As a Teacher of the Deaf both in the Early Childhood Programs at the New Jersey School for the Deaf and The Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, I served the Deaf Community for forty- four years. I was born and grew up in New Jersey and began my painting career parallel to my teaching. ![]()
